Allianz Life Promotes Mike Scriver to Senior Vice President, Global Head of Hedging for Allianz Investment Management

MINNEAPOLIS — Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®) promoted Mike Scriver to senior vice president of Hedging for Allianz Investment Management LLC, a registered investment adviser with the SEC and wholly owned subsidiary of Allianz Life. Scriver, who acts as global head of hedging for Allianz SE and its operating entities around the world, is responsible for providing strategic direction to develop and implement innovative hedging strategies and manages all major aspects of quantitative financial risk management operations. Scriver also provides equity and interest rate hedging programs, incorporating advanced derivative strategies. He reports to Allianz Life Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, Carsten Quitter.

Scriver has been with Allianz Life since 2005 leading product hedging activities, including implementation of complex derivative strategies to hedge market guarantees associated with a multi-billion dollar global annuity product portfolio. Prior to joining Allianz Life, Scriver performed quantitative research and derivatives trading as a quantitative analyst for more than three years with Provident Advisors, a multi-strategy hedge fund in Wayzata, Minn. He also held various actuarial roles with ING in Minneapolis where he was responsible for actuarial modeling and cash flow testing.
Scriver earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo. He holds several professional designations, including Chartered Financial Analyst, Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
