Pacific Life Names Five Executives to Vice President Positions

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – The appointment of five new vice presidents has been announced by Pacific Life Insurance Co.
Frank Boynton is now vice president of operations in the retirement solutions division. His responsibilities include oversight of the division’s customer service call center, operations account management, operations project management and operations audit support services, a Pacific Life statement said. Boynton had been assistant vice president of operations for the division since 2005.
Bradley Sherrell is now vice president of the technology office in the life insurance division. He is responsible for technology strategy, evaluating technologies and system portfolios associated with potential acquisitions, and strengthening information security, information management and disaster recovery capabilities. For the past eight years, he has been the assistant vice president of the technology office.
Three new vice presidents were named in the corporate division.
Donna Burton has been promoted to vice president of Human Resources-Total Rewards. She now has responsibility for compensation, benefits, payroll and human resource information system functions. Burton became assistant vice president, Human Resources Business Partner, in 2011 and transitioned to the Total Rewards team in January 2014.
Chris Dallas is now vice president of investment counsel, Pacific Life said. He oversees legal matters related to investments by the company’s investment management, real estate, Pacific Asset Management and Pacific Asset Advisors LLC. He also serves as secretary of Pacific Life’s management investment and credit committee. Dallas joined Pacific Life in 2004 as an assistant vice president.
Darlene Goodwin has been named vice president of application services. She is responsible for application development and administration, database design and administration as well as production integration and support, and business and functional analysis. She was named assistant vice president of the investment management division, information technology, in 2010.
Recently, Pacific Life assigned its current president to head up its aircraft leasing subsidiary as the company considers a possible initial public offering of the airplane unit (Best’s News Service, Dec. 9, 2015). Khanh T. Tran, 59, became chief executive officer of Aviation Capital Group, a wholly owned commercial aircraft leasing operation, effective Jan. 1.
At the same time, Jim Morris, chairman and CEO of Pacific Life, assumed the additional title of president of Pacific Life.
Pacific Life Insurance Co., a mutual insurer, reported 2015 net premium written of $9.03 billion and net income of $519.7 million, according to Best Link.
The company has a current Best’s Financial Strength Rating of A+ (Superior).
