    Director, Independent Channel Marketing

    We are looking for a Marketing Director to join and lead our efforts in support of our Independent Distribution channel. In this role, you will lead a team to support the engagement of independent agents across the United States. Partnering with field leaders, you will drive marketing strategy and execution for National Life Group’s largest distribution channel.

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Work as a part of the Independent Distribution team and work closely with the Life and Annuity product teams to understand the target segments, the product set and tailoring marketing strategies to enable sales growth.
    • Lead a team to develop marketing strategies, high level messaging, develop recommendations on channel approach and help drive execution of these strategies.
    • Leverage and coordinate integrated, cross functional support from Creative Services, Digital Marketing, Marketing Operations and other key partners
    • Collaborate with distribution leaders, field leaders and distribution partners to promote our products and our brand with independent agents.
    • Ensure deep customer insight is at the center of all marketing plans.
    • Ensure an “end-to-end” mindset and connectivity across all communication touchpoints.
    • Partner with key agent relationships to develop marketing programs to engage consumers and drive sales growth.
    • Develop high impact and outcomes-focused marketing strategies and execution plans that drive sales and reinforce the brand.
    • Lead the charge in ensuring measurement of these great marketing initiatives to understand what is working and what is not–making recommendations based on learnings and continuously iterating to become a best in class marketing organization.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum 12 years of experience and demonstrated ability to build out marketing and business strategies with specific outcomes and impact on sales, engagement, loyalty, retention and profitable growth.
    • Experience in the life insurance, annuity, retirement, or investment industries with an intermediary-focused distribution model preferred.
    • Proven cross-functional leadership experience, with proven results driven both directly and through partners.
    • Experience with digital marketing, social media and digital customer engagement.
    • Strategic mindset and ability to communicate a strategic vision; can anticipate issues and challenges and develop approaches to mitigate.
    •   Strong ability to build relationships and influence others; able to partner and interact effectively with senior leaders and managers across different cultures.
    • Clear and concise communication and presentation skills; synthesize complex topics in a compelling and visual manner.
    • Strong advocate of teamwork, performance excellence and continuous improvement.
