    Job Description

    The President, Ameritas Investment Corp. (AIC) will be responsible for the overall management, strategy, growth and operating results of AIC. The successful candidate will be accountable for successful broker/dealer and registered investment advisor operations as well as implementation of business goals set by Ameritas and AIC Boards and the Ameritas Individual Division.

     

    Ameritas leadership has recently performed a strategic review of the AIC business priorities, with a view towards the future. Resulting from this review is the strategic imperative to further enhance and accelerate growth of the AIC wealth management business. This will be achieved by offering more wealth management products while continuing to offer life insurance as part of a broader product portfolio. By bringing all of the sophistication of an insurance owned broker/dealer, AIC can offer clients an in-depth understanding of risk management and long-term portfolio construction that other firms struggle to match. By systematically translating these insights into actionable client recommendations and strategies for their advisors, AIC can expand their client service models beyond product sales and into holistic financial planning that seamlessly integrates downside contingency planning.

     

    Essential Functions

    • Develops and implements strategies aligned with the organizations strategic vision and outcomes ensuring long-term financial viability of the organization
    • Creates a thriving, transparent, results oriented environment that demonstrates strong team performance, and a culture of accountability in support of Ameritas strategies.
    • Develops compliance and operational infrastructure (people, processes and systems) to meet regulatory and market-place requirements as well as optimal performance
    • Attracts, develops, and grows talent for the organization and succession planning.
    • Oversees capital market activities, including public finance and fixed income trading
    • Acts as a liaison between the organization and other Ameritas entities to identify synergies and business opportunities as well as to pursue shared resource strategies
    • Continuously evaluates business operations against environmental conditions, risk factors, and market development for operational efficiencies
    • Establishes benchmarks and performance goals for programs, service standards, special projects
    • Collects and analyzes evaluation information that measures the success of the organization’s program efforts; refines activity as needed in response to the trends
    • Identify and pursue business growth opportunities as appropriate and consistent with business objectives outlined by the Board
    • Serve as a member of the Ameritas IOC, ALMWG, and Fund Oversight Committee, and enterprise risk management committee
    • Serves as Executive Sponsor for the Broker/Dealer Task Force and the Field Advisory Cabinet

     

    Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. FINRA registrations 7, 66, 24, 4, 53, and SIE required, or ability to complete within first 24 months. CFP®, CFA, CLU®, and/or ChFC® preferred
    • 15+ years of experience managing a successful broker/dealer. 10+ years’ experience in executive management or leadership operations environment with increasing responsibility.
    • insurance owned broker/dealer experience are highly desired.
    • M&A experience to help drive RIA acquisition/assumption of business transactions is also attractive
    • ability to develop and build strong relationships with field partners
    • Strong experience developing and articulating an aligned strategic direction, manage to tight lines of accountability, and be able to recruit and develop strong future management in all areas required
    • Strong negotiating ability, and a very high level of interpersonal and communication skills required
    • Understanding of and experience with an insurance company-owned broker/dealer and RIA. IBD experience preferred.
    • Full understanding of a comprehensive financial planning, wealth management approach is essential. Sales and client engagement experience preferred.
